This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to effectively collaborate with your bandmates and fellow songwriters. Get ready to unlock a new level of creative synergy!

Why Collaborate with Chordel?

Chordel's collaboration features are perfect for:

Setting Up Your Collaborative Workspace: Spaces

Think of a "Space" in Chordel as your dedicated project hub. It's where you'll store all the songs, setlists, and collaborators for a specific project or band.

There are two easy ways to create a new Space:

Method 1: The Welcome Page Shortcut

1. When you first log in to Chordel, you'll be greeted with a welcome page featuring a prominent "Create New Space" button.
2. Simply click this button to get started!

This is the quickest way to jump into a new project. Once created, your Space is ready for songs and setlists!

Method 2: Using the Space Switcher Dropdown

1. Look for the Space Switcher in the sidebar. It displays the name of your currently selected Space.
2. Click on the Space Switcher to open the dropdown menu.
3. Select "Create new space" from the options.

Your new Space will be created instantly and automatically selected, ready for you to start building!

Managing Your Space: Control & Organization

Once you've created a Space, you'll want to manage its settings and invite your collaborators.

Accessing Space Settings

Your Space Settings are the central control panel for everything related to your project. Here's how to get there:

1. Click on "Space Settings" in the sidebar. It's usually located below your Space name.
2. This will take you to a dedicated page where you can customize your Space.

Inviting Collaborators: Building Your Team

Ready to bring your bandmates or co-writers on board? Here's how to invite them:

1. Navigate to the Space Settings page (as described above).
2. Locate the "Share" card. This section is dedicated to managing access to your Space.
3. In the provided field, enter the User ID of the person you want to invite.
4. Click the "Invite" button.

Once invited, your collaborator gain access to your Space. You'll see their name appear in the list of collaborators below the invite form. They can then start contributing to your songs and setlists!

Advanced Space Management: Taking Control

Sometimes you need to make more significant changes to your Space. Here's how to handle those situations:

Deleting a Space (Permanent Action!)

If you're the owner of a Space and no longer need it, you can delete it.

1. Navigate to the Space Settings page.
2. Scroll down to the "Danger Zone" section. (It's called that for a reason!)
3. Click "Delete Space (permanently)".

Leaving a Space

If you're a collaborator and want to leave a Space, it's a simple process:

1. Navigate to the Space Settings page.
2. Scroll down to the "Danger Zone" section.
3. Click "Leave Space".

After leaving, you'll no longer have access to the Space's content. You can always request re-invitation if you need to rejoin later.
