How to Use Lyrics + Chords Blocks: A Step-by-Step Guide

1. Start Writing: Click inside any section to begin typing your lyrics. Don't worry about chords yet – just get your ideas down!

2. Select & Annotate: Move the cursor to the specific word or syllable where you want to add a chord. This is where the magic happens!

3. Open the Chord Input: A handy chord button (question mark) will appear above your selection. Click it to open the chord input panel.

4. Choose a Chord: You'll be presented with a list of suggested chords. Chordel intelligently suggests options based on the chords you've already used in your song, helping you maintain consistency and explore related harmonies. If you don't see what you need, click "Build a new chord" to unlock the full power of our chord builder.

5. Building Your Perfect Chord: Don't be intimidated! Our chord builder is designed to be intuitive, even if you're not a music theory expert. Here's how it works:

• Step 1: Select the Root Note: Choose the foundational note of your chord (e.g., C, D, E, F, etc.).

• Step 2: Further specify with chord groups: Chord groups allow you to modify the chord by adding the following: accidentals (sharps, flats), quality (major, minor, augmented etc.), extensions, alterations, additions or a bass root note. This gives you full control in specifying your chord.

• Step 3: Pick Your Chord: Based on your root note and chord group, you'll see a list of specific chords (e.g., Cm, Cdim, Caug, ...). Select the one that sounds right! Afterwards you can further add other modifiers.

• Step 4: Accept & Play: Click the chord to add it to your lyrics. You'll see it beautifully rendered above your selected text.

6. Edit or Remove Chords: Need to make a change? Simply click on the chord you want to modify. This re-opens the chord input panel.

7. Deleting a Chord: Within the chord input panel, click the remove button (the trash can icon). The chord will disappear, leaving your lyrics clean and ready for new ideas.
